About You
I enjoyed the insight week to a high extent. This was due to the various site visits to maces prestigious projects that they are currently working on and also receiving a substantial amount of insight into the different job sectors mace provides via well structured power points from current graduates.
I felt highly valued during my time at the company. Numerous of other members of staff within the company was intrigued about my visit to mace and my career goals in construction.
I received effective guidance and support during the insight week. Due to meeting various members of different sectors within mace, such as a construction, project management consultancy and facilities management , they provided the best advise on how to get into each sector and guidance on how you can progress.
The information I received, has finalised my career goals in construction. Therefore helping create a plan that would guide and push me to get into the construction industry.
The Company
The insight week was structured well. There was a room dedicated for the students on the insight week and a timetable of the week was provided to us several weeks before the insight week took place.
The atmosphere was good in a working environment, everyone within the company were very friendly and helpful in regards to needed directions or any further questions I had about the company.
During the insight week, it was explained via various members of staff and graduates that mace provide effective on the job training, therefore learning as you go, as you experience different things when on different projects. The company also invests in you if you secure an placement on the graduate scheme as they aim to get you chartered.
Insight week provided me with a great extent to understand what it would be like to have a full time role in the company. Quest speakers who work in the company provided their general day to day jobs, and also highlighted it often changes every day, which therefore reduces becoming tedious. Every day is different working within mace.
The insight week provided a great understanding of the company's culture. Information regarding what mace provides additionally, such as their numerous charities and volunteering days was explained.
The content provided during the insight week was extremely value in helping me decide my future career path. It enable me to actually decide what sector I would like to pursue a career in and what other sector of construction I would like to progress to. The helpful and detailed information provided helped me make that decision.

Travel expenses from mace and to site visits were reimbursed.
The was great opportunities for networking and meeting other employees in the company. The programme arranged for us students during the mace insight week had dedicated times in the day, were we was able to speak and ask questions to various employees, such as an senior member of staff, graduates and also mangers.
The networking opportunities were very beneficial, as it provided insight about the company from actual employees and their experience
Yes, activities such as volunteering and charity work.
I would absolutely recommend the insight week to any one interested within the construction industry
