About You
Thoroughly enjoyable week, where I was provided with a highly informative insight into the different divisions of the Barclays Front Office.
The organisers of the week were very open and helpful in terms of helping us to adjust to the new culture. The employees whom we had the chance to network with were equally as receptive to questions regarding their career paths, and motivations for the job.
After having finished the Spring Insight Week, I now have a clear idea upon which division of the bank I want to go into, so in that sense the week has guided me into making that decision.
I was able to develop simple skills such as communicating, networking and presenting skills, which are useful in any environment.
The Company
We were provided with a schedule at the start of the week, marking out each of the sessions we were to go to. Each day also had a different purpose, usually focusing on a different area of the bank.
From the organisers, to the employees, and to my fellow students on the programme, everyone was very supportive in making the week be the best that it could be.
They realise the best way to get their future employees is by starting them out in the Spring programme, and you could tell, as they made the week very worthwhile.
From opportunities to interact with current employees, can easily ask questions regarding the duties of their roles.
That was one of the things that I became aware of throughout the week, from the Managing Directors talking about the type of culture they aim to make, to hearing first-hand from current employees.
I now know what career I want to pursue - so very valuable opportunity.
Everything Else
I was paid a more than healthy amount, which covered day-to-day expenses, and then some.
Many, many opportunities.
Many opportunities to interact and network - from fellow students on the programme, to employees on the Graduate Programme, all the way to some of the more senior employees within the Bank.
Barclays is involved in many community based programmes, with opportunities for employees to get involved in.
Definitely!
