About You
I greatly enjoyed. The week was well structured and we were given excellent opportunities to experience the different roles the business has to offer.
Considering it was a very busy week in the office with a CEO visit, I did feel valued. Teams went out of their way to support us, despite it being clear they had a lot of other tasks to complete.
Support wise, I received a lot. My team were able to answer all questions I had and tried their best to seek out any further opportunities such as business meetings when I asked for them.
The week developed my professional skills greatly. These are not directly transferable to my degree programme but no doubt shall be extremely useful in the future.
The Company
Structured to a level that worked very well. Each day there was a set agenda, but time outside of this to understand specific parts of the business you could pursue yourself and also allow you to work in the team. This outside time of the set programme was particularly insightful.
L'Oreal as a company has an excellent atmosphere, everyone is very welcoming and near universally happy to support you when you ask questions.
Each day was filled with a variety of opportunities, meeting numerous people from different levels. In this sense, investment of people was high. Importantly, transport to and from London and accommodation was not covered as it is in a lot of other Spring Weeks. This would make it very difficult for many people who would otherwise like to attend, but lacked financial support.
A majority of the week was spent working with a team doing real work, and participating in real meetings. Being paired with an Full Time intern meant it was very easy to understand the everyday goings on of L'Oreal.
Company culture was quite immediate to understand, with a very welcoming start to the week and a continuation over the next 5 days. My only comment was in the week it was difficult to get an insight into the international role of the business, but as it was only a week long insight this did not overly disappoint me.
Very valuable. Working on real projects and numerous people at different levels sharing their experience meant it was easy to understand whether the careers they had may be something that would interest you. As an insight, the week was an honest reflection of the company. I personally greatly enjoyed my week, this was largely due to the integrity shown by the people supporting me.
Everything Else
Lunch and Zone 1-6 travel was covered. Nothing else.
Plenty. Really usefully, I asked my manager for the opportunity to meet people from other business function. This was done very promptly.
Ice Breaker on Monday of Escape Rooms was an excellent social event to meet the other spring week interns.
Employees spoke of the opportunities. I was particularly interested by how L'Oreal ensured it ethical credentials, but sadly this was difficult to gain an insight into in the week.
Yes.
