    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Really enjoyed it! Gave me an great insight into the world of investment management, something which I knew very little about. Would really recommend anyone attending even if you're not from a financial background.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I really enjoyed the insight day. The staff were really friendly and took time to actually answer all your questions thoughtfully. They also seemed to take a genuine interest in what we were studying and offered career guidance and tips in starting your career and deciding what field to go into.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Could have cut down the amount of time spent on trading exercises. Most of the attendants didn't see the point in having four rounds as most of us grasped the concept fairly early on.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone there geniunely seemed to be having fun. Graduates and employees answered all questions and gave us really positive reviews of their time working at M&G. Organisers were friendly and made us feel welcomed.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They were obviously interested in what we were wanting to do with our future and really encouraged us to apply to there schemes if we were interested. Really glad I went as current grads and senior employees spoke about their experiences in starting out their careers and how this may be the right choice for us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • To a great extent. I gained a pretty full and detailed understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role with the firm. Current employees spoke about their day to day dealings in the office in detail really helping us to understand a day in the life of an M&G employee.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • HR gave an overview all about the company cultutre. In addition to this on the graduate panel it was explained to us why M&G was such a great place to work. They cited the fact that the structure wasn't hierarchical and that senior members would sit next to interns and graduates.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Fairly valuable. I'm not sure if i want to go into investment management but during the graduate panel we were also shown other opportunities for internships and graduate schemes at M&G. These included, Human Resources, Operations Risk, Compliance, Legal services and Technology ie. more specialist roles. Really like the variety on offer at M&G

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • As it was only a day long I didn't expect to be reimbursed for travel costs. Lunch was provided alongside drinks and refreshments throughout the day and we were given ample time for breaks in order to enjoy these. The company after all puts on this free event and employees dedicate time to come and speak to you.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes there were. I spoke to current employees who were on the graduate scheme (previous interns too) and more senior figures came and spoke to us at lunch. Thought it was really well organised and was really interesting hearing from a wide range of different people from different backgrounds .

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Plenty of time to speak to my peers at the event and as said above I spoke to current employees who were on the graduate scheme (previous interns too) and more senior figures came and spoke to us at lunch. Thought it was really well organised and was really interesting hearing from a wide range of different people from different backgrounds .

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes I learnt lots about their extracurricular activities and the fact that M&G doesnt allow employees to access emails from outside of work. This highlighted to me the fact that M&G really does value it's people and understands the importance in allowing them to spend time away from work .

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I was skeptical at first and didn't know what to expect but the day really exceeded my expectations. It was really insightful and chatting to people from such a diverse range of fields and walks of life really was great. I would highly recommend the insight day to a friend.
