About You
The experience I had at Simmons & Simmons was a hugely beneficial experience where I learnt a lot about the firm and a career in law.
During the scheme I was valued highly by my trainee who was willing to give me a number of tasks and the graduate recruitment team were very willing to make me feel included in the firm.
The event was well structured and I was given a vast amount of guidance on how to approach each task I was set
The skills I learnt were invaluable and will be very useful in the future.
The Company
It was very well structured will a clear timetable of where and when things were happening in order to ensure clarity.
Everyone I met was very friendly and willing to give help and advice across the 2 days.
I was given a number of tasks and when I completed them I was given verbal feedback on how to improve for the future which was very helpful.
By shadowing a trainee and doing trainee work I got a great insight into the firm.
I learnt a lot about how the firm works and how friendly the culture is there.
Highly valuable as I was able to see what a trainee does on a daily basis which was an invaluable experience.
Everything Else
I was paid and this included my travel fares
There were numerous opportunities to network with trainees and associates as well as the social events to get to know graduate recruitment and the other people on the insight scheme
The social events which were organised were great fun and really helped everyone to get to know each other in a more relaxed environment.
I learnt a bit about what they did outside work, but not as much as I could have possibly done but this was perhaps more due to the fact such a vast amount of material had to be imparted over 2 days.
I would highly recommend the insight scheme to anyone considering a career in law.
