    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed the week. No hour was wasted as we learnt so much in the 4 days. It was more than just an insight I was a tangible and indepth experience in to the world of investment banking. HR did an amazing job to ensure that the week was as interesting as possible.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • This feeling of value was prevalent throughout the week. HR always made us feel welcome and happily addressed our concerns. Additionally other members of staff from analyst level to director were very open to taking time out of their schedule to help us, in. Terms of gaining .ore knowledge about the industry.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance and support news always there. This came in the form of HR and even the people on the spring week . However how much you networked or your participation with the events was down to one's self. This level of freedom was great as we developed natural relationships.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were a multitude of skills that I developed and all the skills that I developed will be helpful to me in the future. One strong skill that was developed was presentation skills. We had a presentation workshop where we were taught how to debate. We were also given an opportunity to practice those skills in the debate night.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The whole spring week program was very structured. In the sense that there was a timetable detailing what we were going to do every second of the day. Also we stuck to the timetable not once did we get off track. This was great to have - a reference for the day

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Amazing. All the staff were brilliant, Receptionists, HR , Analysts , Associates , Vice-presidents and above. All the staff meet on the spring week really embaraced the values of Barclays respect, integrity, service, excellence and stewardship. This contributed to the welcoming atmosphere that what experienced right though the spring week.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Despite the fact that you are not actually working in terms of generating every any revenue for the Firm you are pay for the time and this was very rewarding as I would have done the whole spring week for free because the amount of knowledge that we worked was not comparable


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes there were allocated opportunity to network this came in the form of lunches and dinners where analyst to presidents and directors were available to talk to about the company about the phone about the culture and About market knowledge. It was a very rewarding time as we got to learn so much

  • As mentioned the opportunities that was given to us in terms of the networking opportunities were amazing we got to learn so much and it also gave us an opportunity to develop all our networking skills. At a level and depth that hadn't been tested before. you also got to practice your networking skills as there were loads of networking opportunities

  • Yes we were well informed about the opportunities that people have outside work this came or the information came to our light during the diversity panel with a spoke about how Barclays supports diversity and the activities that they engage in after work. The activities ranged and sounded very exciting
