About You
it was really helpful for the first-year student to get an insight into banking. it is a good opportunity to explore your interest in the finance area. the structure is really good where it has both business shadowing and also the workshops for spring interns to explore more about the Citi as a whole.
Fantastic! I applied for Market and security service (MSS) in the Citi. I was assigned to a specific desk during this spring week. I can actually see how is the trading floor and talk to traders every day. Also, Citi provided many opportunities for us to network with both senior and junior people.
I would say a huge. because every day the people from HR will be with you, they are really supportive. once you have any questions, just told them and they are willing to help. The Citi people are really friendly, they are happy to answer any questions with some clear answers. I learnt a lot through this spring week.
I learnt a lot. Both soft skills and technical skills from Citi.when I was doing business shadowing, I learnt more about the technical side, knew something about market movements and terms using in. Apart from that, I learnt soft skills through networking event. after talking to many people, I learnt about their career paths and gained advice for future development.
The Company
I would say well structured. it was a long but interesting unforgettable week. it has some networking event to let you know different people working at the Citi. also, during your business shadowing period, you have a chance to experience the life of a banker. What's more, it also ran some presentations during lunch time so that we can understand more about Citi colourful culture.
it was really supportive and friendly. everyone is willing to help. people are really nice. they are willing to share their experience to you and talk with you. they works as a team, working together as friends. this working environment is what i like the most. People help each others and care about others in CIti.
they don't give personal training at this stage, but you can ask them any questions you want to know.
It gave me a deep insight into banking area, especially for the trading part. i explore more about trading floors and understood different asset groups and their differences. Also, i have a broader view about how Citi stuctured and operated and what is the function of different divisions. it helps me find my interest point.
The citi culture is flat and friendly.
it was really helpful. it built my solid foundation of career in finance as i understand the business by directing talking ot watching their daily jobs. it gave me chance to experience different team within market. i can have a basic understanding about it and shadowing them to ensure i am choosing the right area.
Everything Else
they provide accomodations and transportation for us.
Yes. we had both senior networking event and the junior networking events. it was really helpful for us know different level of people from different divisions to talk with us so that i can understand the Citi as a whole, especially for experiencing the culture. senior people can give advice for future while junior people will help you to know the technical things.
really supportive. i met so many people there.
yes. they have a lot of social responsibilities. for example, every year Citi London team ran the running competition. it is a way to gather people and give back to the society. also, they do volunteers both locally and globally. last year, they went to South Africa to help people with their business.
definitely. everyone in their early career stage (the first and second year in the Uni), I highly recommended this program. this program gave you an opportunity to check and experience the life in banking. you can feel it and explore more about which specific area you want to go to rather than just generally want to go to the finance industry.
