About You
I absolutely loved it - it was action-packed, very comprehensive overview on all front office divisions of Barclays and a good balance of presentations, interactive workshops, work-shadowing and networking opportunities.
Extremely, I felt very welcomed even though we were only there for 4 days.
There was good support throughout the week, HR team was always around to clarify doubts, we also had an assigned buddy who reached out to us prior to the programme.
We had a lot of group exercises everyday and it definitely helps in building teamwork skills which is essential in my management degree as I have a lot of projects.
The Company
Very well structured and action-packed, I was constantly learning and taking in new information and meeting new people.
Very friendly and open, everyone was willing to help and genuinely want to get to know you better, definitely a great place to be in.
We had many panels with recent graduates/analysts and networking opportunities which definitely helped to shape my understanding of the actual work on-the-ground for a full time role.
I had the opportunity to interact with a lot of people from business, from analysts to managing director level, and that tremendously helped to me to get a firm feel of the organisation.
It firmed my decision to pursue a career in investment banking.
Everything Else
Definitely, but its also important to take initiatives to meet people for coffee chats.
We had ample networking opportunities - during lunches everyday and also a senior networking reception on the first day.
We had a diversity panel which highlighted many networks in the organisation which the employees can be involved in.
Definitely a rewarding, memorable and fun experience - would recommend to anyone who are still exploring options in finance or are already set on investment banking to find out more about the industry and the culture and position of the firm.
