About You
I really enjoyd the insight week. It allowed me to develop a better understanding of the division that I applied to, as well as the specific sub-divisions. By witnessing the day-to-day happenings as well as the culture in the organisation, it helped me evaluate if this was the right job for me and whether I would thrive in the environment.
Most people were very welcoming, and it was not I expected, really. Now, I feel more attracted to the firm, as well as the job, than before. The interns' welfare was always a first priority, by the teams we were attached to as well as the HR team. However, I must point out that a few people weren't too friendly and actually came across as unapproachable, which was not so enjoyable.
We were attached to a specific team and were also assigned a buddy. Though the team members were busy, they were always willing to take out time for a coffee and explain the role of the team to me, which was really insightful and helpful. We were also encouraged to ask questions, though it was easier to approach some to clarify our doubts than others.
A week is not enough to gain a very in-depth understanding of the role, as well as the technicalities of it. However, I do feel like, based on the already short span of time, I have maximized my use of it and the information I have gathered will be useful for my future. The knowledge of what this job entails, as well as the culture at the organisation, will guide me in making a more informed decision about my career path.
The Company
Though it was very different from other similar insight programmes, based on what I have heard from other people, it was a good kind of different. The timetabling of programmes gave us a good balance of interaction with both other interns as well as the team we were attached to. All the programmes were useful and structured in a way, really, to maximise our time at the insight week.
It was better than I expected! People were mostly friendly and willing to help, even though they were busy, making it a comfortable environment. The people were also very encouraging, which made me feel more daring to try and step out of my comfort zone. Like I previously mentioned though, the reason why I am not giving a higher rating is because of a few people who made me feel uncomfortable and though good, it wasn't perfect.

Everything Else
Yes, both of senior and junior level. My buddy also arranged for me to meet employees from other teams in the same division, for me to gain a broader perspective of the division I was attached to.
Great! The senior networking event was insightful in hearing senior employees in the organisation talk about their work experience, while the junior networking event was both fun and insightful. I got to learn about other divisions from the employees, while having fun with my fellow interns and getting to know each other better.
Yes. We had talks on volunteering opportunities, which was insightful especially because it's an area I am interested in.
Yes, I would. This insight gave me a better understanding of both the culture at the organisation, as well as what a career in this industry entails. It was very useful and what I have learnt from this short one week stint will be pointers I look back on in the future, when deciding on my career path.
