About You
I enjoyed this insight programme at DLA Piper very much. There was a great mixture of networking events, information sessions, workshop and social activities. Employees at the firm were extremely friendly, adding to the open and inclusive environment at DLA Piper. Overall, an extremely enjoyable experience at an international law firm.
I felt extremely well valued during my time at DLA Piper. The recruitment team ensured that we were made to feel welcomed and comfortable at the firm, really taking the time to get to know us individually. Everyone I had the opportunity to interact with was more than happy to answer my questions and senior members of the firm gave up their valuable time to speak with us.
I felt well supported on this insight programme. The recruitment team provided a good level of support before we joined the organisation, supplying us with a guidebook that covered a range of topics. Moreover, upon join the firm for the insight programme, we were provided with a great level of support and expertly guided throughout the activities and workshops.
I found the learning opportunities on this insight programme to be endless, especially as a first year law student only just beginning their career. We were provided with so much valuable information, which will undoubtedly be beneficial in my future career pursuits. This knowledge will also be beneficial should I choose to undertake a commercial law module whilst at university (which I plan to do).
The Company
This insight programme was extremely well structured with a great layout to the days. As mentioned, there was a great mixture of workshops, info sessions and networking events. We were provided with an itinerary for the three days, which allowed us to adequately prepare and I very much enjoyed all the activities!
There was a great atmosphere throughout the insight programme, with everyone being extremely welcoming and friendly! However, as this is a well-respected international law, the atmosphere was also very professional, which is to be expected. Employees were very easy to approach and due to the atmosphere, I always felt able to ask employees questions about their roles and the firm itself.
DLA Piper invested a great deal into our personal training and development. We were set the task of preparing and presenting a group project and this was aimed at our personal development. Employees took the time to give extensive feedback, which again demonstrated how much DLA Piper was willing to invest in us.
This programme at DLA Piper was very insightful and provided me with a good understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role with the firm. We had the opportunity to speak with current employees from all different departments of the firm and we gained insight on the workload and specifics of roles in the company.
The insight programme was very beneficial in understanding more about the company culture at DLA Piper. With ample opportunities to talk to current staff about the company culture, they all portrayed it in a very positive way. Additionally, we had sessions with employees from different departments to discuss what they think of their department and the culture.
The content throughout my time at the firm was extremely valuable in helping me to decide on a future career path. I had the opportunity to gain insight into the specifics of each department via talks and networking sessions. We were also informed of the process of applying to the summer internship scheme and graduate programme.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed my travel expenses quickly and efficiently.
There were endless opportunities for networking and interacting with other employees at DLA Piper. The firm organised networking drinks on the first evening and we were treated to a networking dinner on the second evening. We also met staff throughout the programme through talks and meetings. There were numerous staff from different departments.
Very enjoyable networking and social event opportunities at DLA Piper.
Yes, I found about a number of different activities that employees can get involved in outside of work.
I would absolutely recommend this insight to a friend, overall a very engaging and rewarding insight programme.
