The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working for M&G. The people working there made every effort to make me feel like a valuable member of the team from the start.
The teams I worked in always made sure the work I was doing was adding value to the department.
I was always given support and advice on anything that I needed assistance for, however, at times my manager was too busy to provide guidance meaning my ability to work independently improved.
A large restructure in my department during my placement meant my workload varied quite a lot meaning at times I had to actively seek out opportunities for more work or to gain experience through additional learning.
Towards the end of my placement when I was moved into a newly formed team I was granted a lot more responsibility and became the main stakeholder for several tasks.
The skills I developed and the knowledge gained from my work will certainly help in my future studies and career.
The Company
The atmosphere was always up-beat and jovial making settling in very easy.
Due to the restructure my placement didn't really have much of a structure after the first couple of months as the work I was doing and the teams I was working for varied quite a lot.
During the first couple of months I attended regular training sessions to improve my knowledge of the business as a whole. Regular learning opportunities within the company were always posted online and generally free to attend.

They offer graduate roles that follow on from your placement however I have been informed that it is unlikely that there will be a grad role available to me for the department I was in, so I will have to apply for a grad role in a different department.
