The Role
I honestly could not recommend doing your placement here at WB more. You feel part of the family from day one. You work alongside such great people as well as a huge group of interns and I have made friends for life.
My team have been fantastic throughout my internship. They are always there to help, happy to answer any queries you may have and guide you throughout the whole process. I have learnt so much from my colleagues, I couldn't have asked for a more.
My line manager changed during my internship and both have been great. A structure for your development is put in place at the start of the year and tracked throughout. My management have really got the best out of me.
This fluctuated a lot throughout the internship and is very dependent on the projects you are working on and what stage you are at with them. In times when I have felt completed overloaded, my colleagues were always available to help. It was all about managing and prioritising my own workload.
I was given real responsibility from the very first day. This gradually increased as the year progressed. In the last few months I was leading multiple projects across various territories, so even though I was an intern, I was given a lot of responsibility and felt like I was making a real impact.
The placement scheme at WB has to be one of the best in the country in terms of learning and development. There are so many training opportunities to get involved in. The skills I have learnt in my internship, along with working in a huge company, has given me so much more confidence for my final year at uni and starting my career in the years to come.
The Company
The atmosphere is great and everyone is on the same page. There is a really good work life balance as everyone is always up for a laugh but are working hard at the same time. Everyone is very friendly and approachable.
Second to none. There are over 50 interns and the setup and structure of the year is organised to a tee.
WB really spends a lot of time, effort and money into your development. Opportunities to develop yourself as well as learning about the business throughout.

Unfortunately, this is a downside. Wb does not offer a graduate scheme. However, if you excel at your internship and they want you back it is very possible. There are a vast amount of ex-interns within the company.
The Culture
The social scene is amazing. A huge group of people and there are social events/meetups going on multiple times a week.
Obviously you are living in London and you are on an intern wage, so it's expensive! But you soon learn to manage it. I have not been anywhere near as tight on money as what I would have thought though. It works both ways as there are the best things to do in London.
It's the capital city, speaks for itself.
Mulitple opportunities in all areas of the business to get involved in. As well as things like 8-a-side football games etc.
