The Role
My year placement with Warner Bros. has been invaluable. The experience that I have gained throughout this year will follow me through my final year at university and into future jobs. It gave me a great opportunity to learn about the Film and Entertainment Industry.
Throughout the year I always felt like a valued member of the team. My team were always encouraging me to try new things and attend training courses that would befit me after I left Warner Bros. Working in a small team can be challenging at times but does give you an opportunity to handle a lot of responsibility.
My manager has been very supportive throughout my placement year! Support is always available whenever you need it from a variety of places within Warner Bros. CHAT Sessions are conducted every few months with your line manager and training sessions are provided by the Learning and Development department to help you through your year and beyond.
The work flow through the department is fairly steady and constant. Work can build up at times however your team will be there to advise and help you if you are struggling. Day to day tasks are varied and you will have the opportunity to work with people around the globe.
Throughout my placement I was given plenty of tasks and responsibilities. Whether it's finding a venue for a conference or updating new Crisis Management Plans for office around Europe, you'll always have something important going on.
When you join as a Warner Bros. intern you are given a Training Schedule and put into classes with the other interns. Throughout the year I was given classes such as: Project Thinking, Myers Briggs Class and Presenting Me. You are also given one IT class fully paid by your department! This can be PowerPoint, Excel etc.
The Company
Sitting with other departments allowed me to network outwith my own team and gave the office a great buzz. It was easy to approach people in the office if you needed help and you learned a lot about what the other departments around you do as well!
From the day my formal offer was made I have felt that the placement has been run very well. A lot of thought and effort has gone into this placement scheme to make it one of the best. As previously mentioned you are given a training schedule to follow and regular CHAT sessions to discuss your progress.
The level of investment that Warner Bros. put into this scheme is fantastic. The Learning and Development department are there to help your progression throughout the year and managers are more than happy to sit down and discuss your personal Goals and Objectives. Training is given both onsite and offsite, delivered by Warner Bros. employees and external agencies.

Warner Bros. currently do not have a graduate scheme in place. However, plenty of interns return after graduation and are employed by the company. Warner Bros. is definitely a company I would like to work for in the future and this placement has opened my eyes to the opportunities that are out there in the Film and Entertainment Industry.
The Culture
There was a great social scene amongst the interns. With over 50 interns working within the company, it's easy to meet people and network on nights out. Interns would frequently organise nights out for catch-ups, birthdays and other occasions. This would either be straight after work or by meeting up over weekends!
The office is based in Central London so the cost of living is high. You will more than likely share a house with other interns working for Warner Bros. if you're not living at home! The cost of alcohol or meals out with interns will be more expensive than others places, however if you budget and don't go crazy, it can be done!
There are loads of bars and clubs around the office and Central London.You will never be stuck for a night out! Whether you are looking for a casual drink, pub quiz or a big night out you will always find something near by. Plenty of places have "Happy Hour" that you can take advantage of to help save some pennies.
There was always plenty of activities to get involved in! Warner Bros. run their own global giving programme - Imapact! Through this scheme when you donate to any of the registered charities the company will match your donation which is a great bonus for the charities. Warner Bros. also take part in Global Volunteer Week which gives employees a chance to go out and work with their favorite charity.
