About You
I really enjoyed the insight because it provided me a clear picture of the different business lines in Macquarie. There were also different kind of activities organized such as workshops and talks. The activities included audience interaction which made them less boring. The duration of the insight was not too long and not too short.
I felt really valued as they provided high quality facilities and food throughout the programme. They also treated us well and answered any queries that we had. The employees were really nice during networking activities and they explained to us their personal experience of working in the company. Thus, I felt really valued.
There was an activity in which I had to pitch an investment idea which really helped me develop my soft skills such as communication and presentation. Also, there were activities which involved modeling using Microsoft Excel which helped me improve my technical skills. Moreover, the various networking opportunities helped me develop my networking skills.
The Company
The insight was really well structured as there was a clear schedule everyday. However, time management can be improved as some activities went overtime and ate into the next program's timing. Nevertheless, they organized the talks and workshops very well as the speakers invited were very experienced and knowledgable employees of the company.
The atmosphere was largely fun and enjoyable. The was a wide range of participants coming from different countries which made it interesting. The employees were also really friendly and welcoming which made us feel less stressed. The activities were also made interactive which made them more fun and enjoyable.
There were a lot of skills development activities such as networking workshops and presentation activities. In the networking workshop, they invited an external trainer to train us on how to do networking properly. In this way, I feel that they invested a lot in terms of personal training and development.
There were talks from every division in the company which gave us a better idea of how each division operates and what are the skills required to work in the division. The networking opportunities were also very useful to get to know personal experience of working in each division of Macquarie.
The content of the programme was really useful for me to decide on my career path in the future as the presentations clearly explained the necessary skills required to work in each division of the company. Thus, I could think whether the skills required match my background, skills and personalities.
Everything Else
There were a lot of networking opportunities everyday. We got to meet employees of the company from all the divisions and thus, we could get a good idea of how each division was like. The employees in the networking events were also very willing to answer any questions we had.
The networking opportunities were plenty and generally well organized. Talks from each division were generally followed by networking activities which made it easier for us to clear any doubt we had as we still remembered what they presented. The employees were also very friendly and willing to answer questions that we had.
