Insight Programme Attendee Review

This insight programme at DLA Piper was an incredible experience; it provided an interesting and engaging insight into the firm and the legal profession, with the opportunity to meet great people who I will absolutely keep in touch with! The Early Careers Recruitment Team really couldn’t have done a better job!

I was made to feel extremely valued during my time at DLA Piper. From the moment I entered the building on the first morning, I was immediately made to feel welcomed, instantly putting me at ease. I was always encouraged to contribute and participate during activities, which again made me feel like a valued member of the cohort.

There was so much support and guidance throughout the three day insight programme. When leading workshops, employees were informative and guided us through the sessions with ease, happily answering individual questions and queries. We were provided with ample career guidance and I feel well-supported applying for further opportunities at DLA Piper.

The knowledge that I gained and the skills that I developed on this insight programme will undoubtedly benefit me in the future. Studying law, the legal knowledge I gained will aid me in my university degree and the practical skills I developed will be invaluable when applying for future opportunities.

This insight scheme was extremely well structured, filled with engaging and interactive sessions and activities. We were consistently busy, allowing us to make the most of the opportunity and we were never left with nothing to do. Additionally, we were provided with an informative itinerary, allowing us to be fully prepared for each session.

There was a great atmosphere on this insight programme- relaxed, friendly and engaging! The atmosphere on the insight programme was certainly reflective of the wider atmosphere within the firm, with the offices filled with friendly and outgoing staff at all levels. Everyone was more than happy to speak with us!

I was extremely impressed with how much DLA Piper invested in our personal development and training! The insight programme consisted of multiple skill sessions and workshops, aimed at developing our skills and abilities. Sessions consisted of networking events, presentation workshops and a deal-making exercise. I found that I learnt something from every single session.

This insight programme certainly provided an excellent insight into what it would be like to have a full time role at DLA Piper. We had the opportunity to interact with partners, associates and junior trainees, who were open and honest about their experiences within the firm, detailing the highs and lows of their careers.

The insight programme was excellent in helping me to understand more about DLA Piper’s diverse, open and inclusive working culture. Furthermore, I found that it is a very supportive culture and I got a real sense that DLA Piper looks after its employees, treating them with a great deal of respect.

The content of the insight programme was hugely valuable in helping me to determine my future career path. It provided me with a first hand experience of the realities of being a trainee at an international law firm, helping me to determine whether this is an environment I could see myself in.

I was reimbursed travels expenses for my time on the insight programme and all of our food was included in the experience.

There were so many opportunities for networking on this programme! The firm organised a number of networking lunches and dinners, providing us with the opportunity to meet with staff at all levels. The staff that attended where engaging and took a genuine interest in us. We also had a ‘speed networking’ event, where we had the opportunity to meet individuals from each different practice area.

I really enjoyed the networking opportunities and social events at DLA Piper!
