    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Just over one month into my summer internship, it is safe to say that I am enjoying it much more than expected. The environment is great and the team very helpful. You get to know great people, learn very important skills and get recognition for work well done.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team is very helpful and employees who have been there longer than you always take their time to assist you on areas you still need to improve on. The managers are very supportive and there is a feeling that everybody gets along well.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • As mentioned in the above comment, the team as a whole is very supportive and give you a lot of training. There is an expectation that you perform well, which in my opinion comes with any sales role, but they do provide you all the support you need to meet your targets and perform the job well. The managers give recognition for work well performed which makes you feel really valued.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the airport branch we are usually very busy, especially in the morning times. But even when we are not so busy, managers and colleagues go through important things with you and give you guidance in areas you're still not so good in.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I believe I was given quite high levels of responsibility and decision making from day one. For example, if you want to upgrade a customer to a bigger car, you don't need to get approval from the managers on rates quoted. Although, we are always briefed on the range of prices that we could charge customers at the start of the day.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think my experience with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car is really helping me develop important skills such as sales, customer service, team working, and I am also learning a lot about cars.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • My colleagues are usually very motivated to work and although it is a stressful environment, we always try to have fun in work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Employees are provided with a lot of training and I feel Enterprise-Rent-A-Car really cares for its workers since they only promote internally. However, I still wasn't provided with training at the Head Office, which some colleagues were and I think that I would highly benefit from this experience.
