The Role
Very challenging at times but the reason I got the internship was to really challenge myself. Overall i really enjoyed the internship.
Surrounded by such a great team each member is valued and has a very important role within the team regardless of their position. I've made some life long friends from my time at Enterprise.
I was given guidance by my area manager on my career trajectory and what i need to do to get there. I was suported by management throughout the internship in regards to training and my roster and so on.
There were extremely business spells throughout each day where you would be run off your feet for hours but there would always be down time during the day after the intial rush was over. I worked in car rental in the airport during the summer months so i expected nothing less.
There was times when i was left in charge of the office dealing with both customers and other staff members and I was in charge of ditributing the vehichles to customers.
I learnt organisational skills and time management skills which help with my course work and beyond and also i learned how to think on the spot and make quick but correct decisions regarding customers which will help in other jobs.
The Company
It was a very fast paced office enviroment and you were always running around serving customers but between fun among the staff and customers the jokes never stopped which helped with the work load as it created a lighter atmosphere
Extremely well organised from the minute i started the interview process, down to the training i received at the start and throughout. The programme was very well designed and everyone throughout the company was aware of the stages of the internship.
Whenever it was quiet in work mangement would take me aside for some additional training be it sales training, customer service training or showing me how to do certain tasks within the system. They invested a lot of time in me doing my phases of the internship programme.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I got kept on part time when i went back to college after my summer internship and I have now been with the company for a year now. When i finish college my career trajectory will be towards an assistant manager. The company only promotes from within so career advancement is possible depending on how high you wish to go.
The Culture
Yes we often went for team meals/drinks and other Interns night outs which were often paid for by management.
Very cheap for me because i lived nearby and didn't have many transport expenses and socialising was often paid for by management.
The area i worked wasa around the airport but we would often go out on the town in the local town beside the airport which had many good bars and nightclubs to choose from.
Yes lots of charity events outside of work or for the top salespeople of the month there were days out each month packed with activities.
