Management trainee Review

The Internship at enterprise is something I would recommend to anyone looking for a placement year. A lot of hard work, but a really good team meant that the sometimes long working days were quite fun and enjoyable.

From day one you are treated like everyone else in the branch, taught how to do a fair amount at training days but a lot of on the job training from other colleagues. Once comfortable with the job role being an equal member of the team is essential so everyone has a very valued place and they are important to how the day to day business is run.

Always someone to turn to if I had any problems at the start and this continued throughout my placement year. Any training was helpful and made a big difference to the job, but on while in branch assistant managers and branch manager were always there to help with any problems; even other more senior graduates were able to helpful with even the smallest of problems. With enterprise hiring from within its almost impossible to find yourself in a situation that someone hasn't been in before so there is always support from if needed.

Part of the learning curve at enterprise is the hard working nature of the job, this is branch dependant but whether small or big there are always different challenges to overcome. The days are long and there is a lot to fit in in those hours but the busy nature of the job means there always something to do and something new to learn.

Obviously to start with its more learning about the job role but after a few weeks its very intense, you are expected (after training and development) to be able to work and figure your way round most aspects of the job role. Any problems or issues could easily be resolved by just asking other people in the office, but other than that you are expected to be able to do most things. By the end of the placement you'll be able to in effect, basically run the day at the branch. The good thing with enterprise is there is always help on hand if your are struggling as almost every scenario you can find yourself in someone has already experienced and found a way.

Im only doing an internship so am still going back to university but I can already see a big difference in how approach different situations. In very simple things like communication and handling responsibility among many others, I feel a lot more comfortable being put into different situations and I feel this will have a massive impact when I return to University and beyond.

Generally the atmosphere is very good, this can be branch dependent. However more often than not it is a very young team in the office which makes it a lot easier to get along and create a good working environment. Everyone at enterprise has worked from the bottom up so knows how hard it can be a different levels so there is rarely any major issues between employees.

Really well organized, a dedicated team from the start to provide training from day one up until it was time to go back to university. Training days are scheduled in throughout to help progress to the next stage. There is always a look towards the future, and how this can be achieved.

Training from day one, and many training days throughout to progress. On the job training is key as well but there always people there to help. Days to head office are for more formal training but are scheduled in well. After a few months there isn't much an employee doesn't know. A folder for the first 10-12 months is used as a guide to reach the first promotion and is really helpful.

As an intern there is the option of returning to enterprise and the future promotions are highlighted very early on; what It takes to reach the next stage and a rough guide to how long it takes.

Everyone in the office is around the same stage; graduating or first time graduate jobs therefore it is easy to click with others. Aside from enterprise organized event which happen multiple times throughout the year there is a very good social side to the job.
