The Role
Everyday was a new experience, work was never boring or tedious
There was always emphasis on how my work would be used after I had left
I had weekly meetings with my mentor who was fantastic
Some days I had to find things to do but that is a great way to meet new people and expand your network
I was given ownership of several projects and handed them over to full time staff at the end of my internship
The personal skills I developed will be invaluable, and it was important to experience a corporate environment as early as possible
The Company
People were always focused on their work, but never to busy to help me out. You have to learn when the right time to have fun is and with which people
I had a weeks training before going into the office and regular reviews to assess my progress and set goals
In the training week there were numerous personal skills sessions and a weekly speaker series from employees from other areas of the bank throughout the internship
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I have an offer for after my degree
The Culture
There were weekly drinks amongst interns and monthly drinks with team members
London is expensive but there are areas that you can go that aren't as bad as others
Canary wharf has plenty of bars but few clubs
If you look for them and a proactive there is plenty on offer
