The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and all the opportunities that I have been able to utilise.
I was relied upon by my team heavily and at times was the only individual within the events team.
There are reviews every 3 months and having two managers meant there was always someone on hand if you needed help and support.
Due to the nature of event work, some periods are busier than others. It was a good level of busy most days and a great role to be in if you like to be under pressure.
I was responsible for managing and overseeing technical events which game with great responsibility.
The skills I have learnt have been invaluable and they are skills you cannot pick up from reading a book. It will be great assistance to me in my final year of university.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in the office, it felt like a family at times. Everyone was different but everyone was lovely and we all got on really well.
The placement was incredibly organised we received frequent communication before placement started and we receive regular communications of any upcoming processes.
As an intern, there are great opportunities for training and development, it is down to you to utilise them and make the most of what is offered.

Working from home
There are graduate opportunities available and something I am keen to pursue.
The Culture
With over 100 interns at my location, there was a strong intern community and it sometimes felt like i was still at university. The social scene was excellent.
The cost of living was high due to living in the south.
Nightlife was ok as it is a student area but nothing overly exciting!
There are opportunities to leave the office and participate in activities in other locations.
