The Role
Great corporate experience in global company operating in a very dynamic industry. Strong networking opportunities which can be leveraged to get on board with exciting projects
Working in the smallest division, I had exposure to every part of the division, from the Managing Director to the Field Teams. With it being such a tight knit group, I worked on important tasks, which was key in making me a valued member of the team
Due to the small nature of my team, I benefited greatly from having close working relationships with not only my team, but also my manager. Very supportive and challenged me to perform at the highest level
Again, due to the small and dynamic nature of this division, i often worked on ad hoc projects and supported colleagues in other functions with various tasks, meaning so always had something to do
I worked on important tasks and supported my team on major projects, which was fantastic as work/reports I produced were used across the division
Getting experience in a corporate environment will help me with future career moves. The understanding of how a business works will be beneficial for my degree studies as I have seen real life applications of certain concepts
The Company
Positive and open atmosphere. Very supportive with strong birthday culture i.e. everyone sings for you on your birthday. Everyone also gets together every other Friday to watch a Ted Talk
For myself, being in a new role, my role was not always structured as I basically had a floating role, so was easy to drift off focus, but my manager and team supported me in making sure our priorities were always aligned
Outside of the standard compliance training every company is obligated to carry out, I don't feel I had the greatest amount of training, especially at the start. There was a lot of "figuring things out" on the job
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
Great place to work, but could depend on division. They support with attainment of professional qualifications like CIMA for finance grads, which is a nice perk
The Culture
Yes, lively social scene with events occurring regularly among intern cohort, which means there's lots of opportunities to get to know everyone
Well it's London, so I think that speaks for itself!
I commuted from outside London, so I wouldn't say I went out enough in Hammersmith to give a good enough view on this
There are sports groups, with various football teams, yoga after work, running clubs and all that. With a decent network, there's lots to get involved in
