The Role
The workload fluctuated massively. Sometimes i would have been sitting around with nothing to do, sometimes i would have lots to do. This was to be expected for a new placement opportunity, especially within a project management environment of the business. Learned a lot, however.
This depends on what work i was doing. Some of the work given was long, repetitive work that people didn't want to do and passed off to me (expected in any placement) and didn't feel very valued. But some of the work felt very important and so i felt valued.
It was there if you asked for it i guess, but there often seems to be an aspect of individualism needed in this role.
As previously stated, this could vary on a day to day basis. Some days i would be swamped, others i would have not a lot.
Towards the end i was given a lot more responsibility than when i started, was not just given work for the sake of having something to do. More work is sometimes there if you ask for it.
In any placement you are going to learn skills you would never learn in a university environment. Plus in this role, there is nothing you could have learned at Uni which would have helped you. You learn a lot in placement.
The Company
Quite relaxed, it's quite open plan and there is never anyone rushing around. People get along with each other and you never feel intimidated by higher managers. Honda treats everyone as equal and it shows here.
There was a lot of reactive work in regards to the placement. Could have been better prepared but this was the first placement so there will always be improvements.
Not really sure, this is something you reflect on when you need it in a few years or in a different scenario. Something you do no appreciate at the time.

The Culture
Got to know them very well and made the entire process much more enjoyable.
Did not live in Bracknell, lived in Reading so would not know.
Reading nightlife is alright, have nothing to really compare it to.
If you want it, there is always time to do it.
