The Role
I enjoyed working with my team but at times the company culture feels a bit dull.
During my placement I was working on projects that directly impacted the business in various countries. Due to my nature of work I felt extremely valued by my team.
My manager offered me support when I needed it, this gave me freedom to work on projects how I saw fit. This was extremely ideal for me but may not work for someone who lacks confidence in their skill.
The workload at Sony is unstable, at times you're extremely busy but at other times there's not much at all. However, you can always find something to get done.
Throughout my placement I was woking on impactful project which impacted many Sony employees throughout Europe.
The skills I've learned will heavily assist me in future jobs but not so much in my university degree. I've learned how to put university skills into practise rather than improving them.
The Company
It depends on your department, the more finance related the less relaxed
The first few weeks are littered with training. However, my manager offered support throughout my placement as you gain most skills from doing.
The Culture
As the travel in Surrey is limited it's a bit difficult to go to other places.
The wages just about cover living and socialising but the lack of a sign-on fee means you'll need an overdraft or previous savings to dip into.
There is no nightlife in Weybridge apart from a couple pubs.
