The Role
I have had the best experience that I could have ever imagined! I would highly recommend to all students that are looking for hands-on experience, fast-pace environment and constant learning on-the-job, training and meeting new people, having an absolute blast throughout the year! I would definitely do the whole year again, if I could. Amazing support!
I felt so valued within my team, definitely a family! I was lucky to have been placed in a team that is very supportive, inspiring and influential. All members of my team genuinely love to help newbies to get a better understanding to exceed their potential. They have definitely given me the confidence to strive for the best and make the most out of my experience!
Fantastic support and guidance from my manager. Heart of gold! Always looking out for everyone in the team on a personal and professional level. Couldn’t have asked for a better manager, definitely pushed me towards my potential and I’m very grateful to have worked in a team that wants you to succeed!
On a daily basis, for an intern, I would say that it’s more of an individual aspect. You have to want to be busy, get involved, show a lot of interest. Networking in different departments, learning from other teams when it gets less busy in your own team. Personal development is also key. It’s all about organising your time and how you can make the best out of your day and that’s what I did :)
I was involved in a lot of group projects throughout the programme. So it gave me a lot of opportunities to be responsible for team meetings, presentialon skills throughout my allocated teams. I also had opportunity to present in front of the execs on very cool ideas that could influence ASOS through hackathons and team projects.
Definitely skills for life! I have learned so much about software engineering principles and clean code that will definitely bring a lot of value throughout my career. Also tools that come with learning these practices which are practiced across a lot of different companies. So it would definitely bring a lot of value and I’m happy to have learned all of it!
The Company
The atmosphere was very sociable, inviting and welcoming. Great way to network easily, you become for extrovert as people are so easy to talk to. You create life time friendships and great attitude towards work. Humble environment.
Very well organised. Luckily, I came to do the placement at ASOS where it was very well prepared. Loads of boot camps introduced that included mini projects as well as big team projects that were presented to the execs. Helped us to practice coding and develop our skills. Definitely a great internship experience!
They have invested a lot of time and money towards our programme. Taught us from scratch, great practical training like seminars and treated us like students as well as colleagues. Great thing about ASOS is that they value personal development so it allows you to take some time out to improve on your weaknesses and get constant feedback.

Working from home
Very appealing. Ideal for students looking for a summer or placement year experience. Ideal for Graduates and for all potential employee’s looking for a particular job in the tech sector and others. Great way to kick-start your career, ASOS would be a great starting point as you aren’t expected to know everything, you are expected to learn and grow!
The Culture
Great social scene! We all didn’t expect to become really close throughout thebinternship programme. Definitely made some best friends out of this experience and being able to have friends that share the same goals as you, really influences your desire to succeed even more. Very glad I have met the people that I have worked. All very friendly and easy to talk to and great sense of humour :)
I lived at home personally but the cost of living seemed very convenient for others. There were a lot of houses advertised on the company workspace site for people to share which is really nice! Socialising is definitely big at ASOS, very sociable environment
The nightlife is really cool never really went out in Camden as much but going with my fellow colleagues was absolutely fun. Anywhere is pretty cool, as long as you are with a bunch of cool people, you’ll always have a good time!
Yes. There are so many cool tech related events and workshops that are always advertised as well as other cool events that allow ASOS colleagues to get some sort of discount or a free ticket which is amazing! And also a lot of volunteering for charity, travelling abroad to work remotely or for charity.
