The Role
The people I worked with were extremely pleasant and interesting, however sadly the work I was doing wasn't as challenging nor interesting as I would have liked.
I made some wonderful friendships which I have taken beyond my year
Because of the workload being relatively low, and the difficulty of it being quite easy I didn't require much support, however when I did need it, it was provided.
There wasn't enough to do most of the time and spent quite a while simply socialising with colleagues nearby. The office seemed slightly overstaffed for the amount of work which needed to be done.
I was given the same amount of responsibility as others in my dept. Not a huge amount but a little influence on things.
Time management is probably the main skill to have come out of it.
The Company
As you would expect some people were more lively than others, and depending where in the office you were depended how much fun it was. That and the on the day workload.
No one apart from the office manger knew I was coming until my first day (when I arrived). There wasn't an outline plan for my year and one was only really created halfway through.
There was some training however how useful or practical it was I'm unsure.

The Culture
Students from around different locations met up occasionally due to the smallness of the town I was in you could go on a night out and bump into colleagues very easily too.
Small town = cheap stuff. Simples.
Small ex-industrial towns aren't known for their nightlife and I was quickly advised against going to some of the shadier pubs/clubs/
Quite a number however due to family commitments I sadly didn't get involved. There were opportunities of a local and national level.
