The Role
I have enjoyed working in my team at L'Oreal, as everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The hours aren't too challenging. But I don't think I've felt as motivated as I could in the work environment.
In my original role I didn't feel like I was making much of a difference, or that I created work that was valued. I then had to cover a higher up role for about 7 weeks- in this time I felt more valued. Some people were more supportive than others.
My manager was great, couldn't of asked for a better one. We had weekly catch ups and she was always on hand for any questions I had.
It went up and down- at the start I wasn't very busy, but when I was covering another role I was quite busy. Towards the end of my placement I haven't had much to do.
I have received quite a lot of responsibility, especially when covering a higher up role during the middle of my placement. `
If I go into a supply planning role I will already have quite a good understanding of the concepts and tasks surrounding the job.
The Company
Very relaxed and chilled. Most people are very friendly.
Quite organised, but there were periods where more communication needed to happen when I was covering a different role.
There are lots of training sessions that are available. They really push you to go to training and development sessions
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I would apply for a supply planning role at the company in the future.
The Culture
Yes, lots of socials were organised within my team and with other interns.
Expensive
Lots of pubs and bars, no clubs.
There were a few sports clubs, but could be more. I better gym discount would also have been a bonus.
