The Role
It was one of my best years at uni, large number of interns and the amazing people at intel made the year really enjoyable. The work you do is interesting but also the people there make the social life just as good as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone doing a placement
Very valued. You have a proper core role when you work at Intel as an inter, you are responsible for your area and are treated like someone who is an expert that whatever field it is you work in
There is a 6 week handover period from the previous inter, so you get 6 solid weeks of learning everything the intern did before you, and then you also have an on the job coach and weekly meetings with your manager.
Fairly busy depending on each day. some months are really busy depending on the time of year for the business and then it gets quieter
I had quite a lot of responsibly, however there are people you work with that are there to support you and everyone works as a team so it doesn't always feel like your just the intern constantly asking questions to the full timers.
i developed so many skills i didn't ever consider i would during my placement, as well as the typical ones you aim to develop such as excel skills and presenting.
The Company
very good, especially in the business management group
extremely well organised, Intel has been doing the placement scheme for years and they really make an effort to make sure you have a valued role and your comfortable in it as well.
i had several weeks of training courses when i first started, and there were always opportunities to do more online training to improve your skills.

very appealing, they offer back graduate positions to some interns
The Culture
very good, there are around 50 interns and several committees to join. Also within your team there will be lots of organised team nights
my rent was very cheap in Swindon, also the cost of living is not expensive
the nightclubs were not the best, however there were many really good bars and pubs
yes lots if you look
