The Role
Loved working with DHL and the team at Long Eaton. I was thrown into the deep end but that's the best way to learn. Great experience out of university to get a better understanding around the different roles around logistics and supply chain.
I felt valued the most when my colleagues included me in projects and giving me more responsibilities.
I was given a lot of support for [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who was our Graduate Talent Coordinator. She worked extremely hard to help me have us all have a good placement experience and a successful year.
I was extremely busy throughout with projects, daily tasks and just extra ad-hoc stuff.
I was given a fair bit of responsibility throughout the placement year. And its easy to sit and not do anything but I wanted to push myself to learn more and gain more experience so I questioned and queried most responsibilities as it helped me learn.
I think it will help me and anyone who does a placement year really develop as a person. It allowed me to gain new skills around systems used and also taught me life lessons that can never be forgotten.
The Company
People generally get involved with light humour throughout the day and it sometimes really helps when you have so much things on your plate.
I think the whole programme could have been organised better whereby we found out where we were placed quite late and also my site didn't know the difference between a graduate and a placement student.
Invested a lot of our course and development
