The Role
Enjoyed it to a great extent-Given great amount of responsibility, combined with good amount of training. Over my 12 months here I was involved in numerous topics and projects in a interesting time for the plant Oxford that just added to the experience. My wishes were respected and listened to as well.
You are treated as any other team member by both colleagues and managers. You are often given your own projects and set time to finish them. You are expected to support other team member with administrative task from time to time, but that helps with further learning and builds you as a qualified employee.
I felt fully supported by all of my managers.
A lot of things are left up to you. Sometimes I felt like I did not have enough work and manager do not go out of their way to give you work, sometimes you need to find work for yourself, but that is not a problem if you are motivated.
I was given great amount of responsibility, from my own projects to me leading part of the planning for a interim period.
I developed all my business related skills and helped my confidence. Training I received was sufficient but could be better. This experience will definitely help me in my last year of university.
The Company
The atmosphere by the end was real good, it was only disrupted at one point due to leaving of couple of colleagues and my first manager.
The internship could of been organised better-duties for students should be better defined, but as said before, if you are proactive and motivated you will train yourself out of existing material and find project to be a part of.
The firm invested money in my development, I was given training and had a couple of training sessions with other departments. I was also given a work phone and a computer and attended team-building sessions.

The Culture
There were intern socials every week on a Thursday, as well as a football 5 a side group every Wednesday. In addition to that, there were many other additional activities.
Oxford is quite a expensive place to live in, but my salary covered all my costs.
Nightlife in Oxford is quite good, there are many bars and clubs as it is a student city. Furthermore, London is very close so you could go there for a night out.
Yes, as previously said there was a intern social every week, as well as many team activities inside of my department.
