  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • All of my colleagues at Siemens were very friendly and helped me fit in really well. The job itself is satisfying and I have enjoyed coming to work every day.

  • I have always been praised for work I have done, and told how much it is appreciated and how it is helping the business.

  • Managers and supervisors have always been very supportive and helpful. They have always been there to answer any queries I have had and have helped where they were able to.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I am often quite busy, however the start of my placement year was relatively slow as no work had been set out for me.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • During my placement, I have been left to work alone on projects on several occasions and have been trusted that my judgment on situations is correct.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills such as teamwork that I have gained during my placement will be invaluable at university, as I will have a lot of group projects to complete in my final year.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • All of my colleagues are generally happy and cheerful, and are always willing to help you when they can which creates a good atmosphere to work in.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The beginning of my internship was very disorganised, with no work being set out for me. This meant I spent a couple of weeks with not a lot of work to do and no department to work in.

  • The company has sent me on many training courses to ensure I can gain as much as possible from my placement year, such as advancing my Excel skills.

  • All of the interns have got together for nights out in the area on several occasions.

  • The area is relatively cheap for socializing and living.

  • The night life is average.

  • The company is involved heavily within the local area so they are always wanting people to volunteer in out of work activities.
