The Role
My year with Computacenter has been challenging, rewarding and fun. I have been able to develop myself, build on my transferable skills and bring them forward to my final year at University and into my future career.
Welcomed into a great team, incredibly friendly and willing to support me from start to finish.
The placement programme has a well structured platform. I have been exposed to senior levels of management for regular 1-2-1 meetings, training, personal development and presentation sessions. Everyone that I have encountered has been willing to put time in for me.
Carried out regular tasks on a weekly basis and had opportunities to get involved in various other outreach activities/ projects. Felt comfortable to ask if I wanted to increase my workload and alternatively get support if I felt overwhelmed.
Been given a respectful level of responsibility, owning processes, communicating with various levels of management and carrying out meaningful work.
Had the opportunity to be trained in Microsoft Visio, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Excel and ITIL. Other skills I have developed include professionalism, relationship building, presenting and communication.
The Company
There was a good balance between fun an focus. It was quiet at times (usually on a Friday!)
The Future Talent Team are dedicated to on-board you into the organisation and support you if needed.
The company and teams are willing to invest in you for training courses. The key focus is to better prepare you for final year at University.

I am still undecided on my career but I have built a great personal and professional network with employees if I wanted to return.
The Culture
It was a 20 minute commute into London which is full of clubs, fun activities and days out. St. Albans is very close and has lots of lovely pubs and restaurants.
As expected, can be done cheap. Aldi and Wetherpersons in the area. Rental prices a little higher, being so close to London.
Hatfield is home to the finest of nightclub 'The Forum'. Sticky floor, cheap drinks and a variety of music that caters for all.
I was involved in a number of charity events - work drinks, 5-aside football, bingo, quiz
