The Role
this year working at asos has completely been invaulable. ive learned so much and asos has to be one of the best companies ive had the pleasure of working for. they value and treat their staff so well. im so sad i have to leave. i truly have had the best year working here and can't recommend working here more
i worked in the pattern room at asos, which is a fairly small team compared to other teams in the company. everyone made you feel valued and you feel like you make a real contribution to the team and the company as a whole. there are away days, were you work with not only your department but with other departments and get to interact with other people, which is great. you're never made to feel like just an intern you are just another member of the team and have the same responsibility as everyone else.
here at asos they have the buddy system in place were a member of the team is your go to contact, for work issue or just any issues your having within your day to day life. this was amazing to just have someone you can just have a chat with just to make sure your well-being is taken care of. we also had monthly catch ups with our managers as well were we discussed any issue we may have or even just any questions, its a good time to just have a general one on one time with a senior member.
for me this changed as i always had things to be doing although i never felt like my day to day work was too much that is was unmanageable. if i ever felt like there was too many tasks being put on my plate, asos is the type of place that encourages you to speak up and let people know that there is too much things been give to you to realistically do
i was given a lot more responsibility than i thought i would be given just being an intern. we were given the same level of responsibility as any other member of staff
ive learned so much from working at asos, from my role and just generally working with amazing people in my team that have so much experience and from going to the many workshops asos itself runs within the year. im extremely confident going back to uni after this year. ive learned so many things i didnt think i would
The Company
the atmosphere is asos is amazing, everyone is so friendly and lovely. we have the asos core values and everyone really embodies those values. with the many social events asos put one (Friday drinks every month) the atmosphere is always fun but also hard working. its a place you want to come everyday
the academy team who organised my internship worked very hard on making an amazing internship program, we had intern sessions every month were we learned about different aspects of the business and had workshops on presentation skill, help with using linkdin and many others that have been amazing. through the program we were also able to do a presentation in front of the ASOS board of executives which was a once in a life time opportunity.
in my personal role there wasn't exactly training as such, it was more of working with senior members of staff and learning from them. there was also all the workshops available through our academy team and through my intern program. Asos itself invests a lot of resources for it staff and hold many learning festival to improve its staffs knowledge

there is always with any internship a good chance of being offered employment after the internship and after you have finished university, asos isnt an exception to that. if you work hard and try your best during the internship there is a great possibitly of being offered future employment with asos.
The Culture
as there was 34 interns in my internship class. there was a great community among us all and with us all attending the intern sessions we became close as a group. the social scene at asos and you can socailise with your team and have the opportunity to socialise with people not in your department as well
living in london is expensive, and socialising in london is expensive. it is london after all, you know to expect this when moving here. the intern wage at asos is good, so you can socialise but not go crazy every weekend. with asos functions everything is usually covered so you dont have to worry about costs at work functions
the asos head office is based in camden, so the nightlife in camden is great as to be expected. there is many pubs and bars close to the work and next to tube links. there is a lot of divest in camden so there is always something that will suit everyone
at asos we have a facebook at work site, which is just a great way for people at asos to comunicate with each other. this is were lots of different groups are were anyone can join, so it is very easy to join activities outiside of work through this system
