The Role
Very much so! Especially when busy!! (oddly) When I have lots to do, and meetings all day I feel very much a part of proceedings and the company. On quiet days, I wonder why I need to be there. My manager has been ace! Offering me the oppourtunity to grow as a person and marketier and to make mistakes (which is important). All she asks in return is I try my best and she has made me want to do so.
I was given responsability, wether it be to run a campaign or simply to play my part in one. All of management within my team were there to support me and I saw countless times that they went out of their way to do so, which I was both very impressed and grateful for.
As per the question above - throughout the whol process. In terms of my own manager we had bi-weekly meetings to check my 'placement year' progress and discuss my future but also to run through any issues or to assess my workload and where the business priorities lay. Same from the wider team!
It fluctuated. I had one of the busier roles, but found some days that I would often save work so I had something to do the next day (or is that just me giving excuses for my procrastination?!) But regardless there were full on days which I enjoyed the most. In my role there are so many stakeholders and cogs to each campaign that really, if you o it right, there should never be down time.
Lots. It was great. Part of me believes I was lucky to get so much as my manager was super busy and almost 'had' to give some aspects away. But equally, although I could have done better I think she trusted me to be able to support her. Top stuff.
In terms of my personal life I feel this is where I have learnt and developed the most. I could do with another year or six months in order to fully learn more about the marketing world. I think there's a difference between marketing and then the strategy behind it. it is the later I could still devlop on.
The Company
I worked within a great team. Always had things to chat about. Others around looked too quiet for my liking but we got on really well. Around the office (lunch hall etc.) It seemed fairly relaxed, certainly not as corporate as I thought it would be. People having coffees, playing games etc.
There could have been improvements. Four good SPY (SONY PLACMENT YEAR) days where all those from weybridge and basingstoke got together. I knew who to go to. The payment wasn't ever an issue.
I feel not as much as my manager. (Sorry to keep going on about her). I think I felt quite distant fron the company itself, top management and other areas of the business, but within my department of PSE, I felt they invested well in me. I have come off theback of it thoroughly recommending this placement (and wish I was doing it again!)

I'm not sure there are any. Certianly nobody has been shouting at Sony about their Grad scheme. I feel that it is the people you work with more than the comapny that would now inspire me to work somewhere. There is quite a flat structure here, so a return feels very unlikely. And I am not sure the 'One Sony' feel runs through all businesses, let alone the different departments here.
The Culture
Yes. Very much so. Hopefully I have a t least three or four friends to take beyond this placement. There was of course a divide, a few arguments etc. but nothing that ruined anything for me.
I lived in Reading and commuted in. Let's be honest, one was never going to fins Student rates on a year like this like that which we experience for the two years prior. Travel was my biggest spend. But overall the salary would more than cover the majority of people's expenditure, even with a few quid left over for some fun.
Hahahahahahahahahaha. Gave me fever. One nightclub, short ride to Reading (a student town). It's not what you've got, it's what you do with it that's important!
Not really. A social club. Not very advertisied. Use of the cinema at times.
