The Role
My year at Computacenter was amazing! They have really taken the time to invest in young people and ensure that we get all the support we needed through out the year. The fact we are given real jobs with real responiblities enabled to develop and grow a huge amount through the year.
Through out the year we were given real tasks that had an impact in our teams and even the wider business. This showed team memebers they were able to trust us and therefore task us with harder challenges. The value that we added was communicated to through the year which was important and reassuring.
We had regular meetings with our managers where we were able to discuss our development and any questions we had about the tasks we were doing. We were also given a buddy who we could have weekly catch-ups with where we could ask for advise on the work we were doing and how we could do it better. Overall the support structure was good.
Although there were times we were very busy, it was nice to be invloved and have a level of responsblity. If i ever felt that I had too much work I was made to feel comfortable to ensure that I was able to call out for help. It would have been boring if we were not busy!
I think that the level of responsiblity and trust we were given through the year was great! If you wanted more or less it was very much self driven which i felt was important to understand. Ulitmately I felt i could handle the repsonibility and enjoyed it!
The experience that i have gained working in large coporate environment will put me in good stead when i start my next job. I feel i have matured and gained a calm head when under pressure which will help me when studying and doing exams in my last year at University.
The Company
The office was great. However i was based on a customer site with a team. The site I was based on was in a great location and the team on site created a great envrioment. I was therefore also able to make friends and contacts with people outside of Computacenter.
It was very well organised by the programme team. I think that it is a great programme that they run and something that they are very passionate about. There are touch points and events through the year which made us closer as group and allowed us to help each other as well.
The company invested in us as much as we asked for. There were loads of training avaliable for us to do and as long as were able to expain why we wanted it they rarely said no. We had a lot of time with Senior people within the company who also wanted to ensure that the investment was worth while.

Working from home
It is a fantatic company to work for and there are many divisions that exist therefore it would be impossible to rule out working here again. I'd love to come back explore the other roles that are avaliable. There are some really good benefits which are hard to love, espically the christmas party.
The Culture
Could not have been better! We have had a great time this year and created some fanstatic memories.
