The Role
I was given the opportunity to get involved with various hands on projects, and been able to make a real difference in the plant. I have treated like a full time employee, and have been given real engineering tasks and responsibility. No shortage of opportunities
I had an excellent team, that made me feel welcome and at home. They became my family and security blanket during my placement. I was very rearly made to feel like just the intern, and was treated with the upmost respect.
They were very focused on my development, making sure I was given tasks that would aid my knowledge growth and development as a person. Everyone was very supportive and patience. Everyone was willing to help me, when asked. Never made to feel like I'd asked a stupid question.
At the start it was quite slow, but as my placement progressed so did my tasks and responsiblities. Generally I was very busy day to day.
I was given my own projects to run. I was also given full-time roles within my placement.
The skills I've learnt during my placement will carry on with me through not only my career, but in life as well. The skills I’ve developed and the projects I’ve been able to get involved with will help me stand out in the crowd, during future career opportunities.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere. Everyone feels on the same level, no snobbery. Everyone open for a laugh.
We had intern training to help develop our soft skills, such a project management, presentation skill, team work, and time planning. Also got various techinical training during my year.

Lots of prospects for interns for future employment. Eaton are very keen to keep talent within the company, loads of opportunities available. I will continue work part time, with the company during my final year of uni.
The Culture
I was living down south, so did find it generally quite expensive.
