The Role
Renault is honestly a great company to work for. The experience i have gained over the past year has been immense. The people you will meet will make you feel so at ease and really part of the team. Not once have i ever struggled alone. The opportunities Renault offers really gives you a good gateway to the future!
My colleagues throughout the whole process made me feel very valued and gave me hands on work that really made a difference. I wasn't stuck making teas and coffees and i was trusted with complex and important work that would be used in board meetings. Not once did i feel not part of the team, i was welcomed with open arms.
Having weekly 1-1 meetings with my manager really helped to discuss any problems i was having. Sitting next to my manager as well also meant it was easy to quickly ask questions that they were happy to answer. When my manager was out of office i always had multiple other people that would be willing to help in my team!
As my job was rather structured i had a relatively busy day every day. However this was fluctuated by new campaign and product launches. i would say that i was fairly busy however i always had time for lunch and tea breaks. if the work load also got too much, my manager would be on hand to help.
This was the major part for me working in Renault. The trust that is given to interns was amazing, I loved it.It meant we became vital parts of the team and felt the work we contributed really made a difference. I think some people fear the responsibility but at Renault we had a huge amount of training before which gave us all confidence in what we did.
It has really helped to understand the structure of a business. I finally got to implement everything i had learnt from my degree and things were really starting to make sense. I think until you physically work in a work environment youll never fully understand the complexity of a business.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable to be around. Although the office could be cold at times i would say the people were great fun and you could freely talk in your teams. i tend to laugh a lot in the day, it wasnt a strict no talking policy and it was acctually very social. you can easily wonder up and talk to peers and colleagues if you have any queries
The placement was set up so when you started you had a lot of training with HR to get to know the ins and outs of the business. we then had training days whereby we got to know and drive all the vehicles that the company sell. Finally we had a 3 week handover with the current placement students to allow a swift transaction.
The comapny offered us training in systems that we used in our specific jobs, however excel training was open to anyone and we could also sign on to online training classes and LinkedIn Learning which proved to be quite helpful in teaching us about our job roles and specifics we needed to know.

The Graduate schemes are run slightly differently however i would certainly tell my peers to invest in working here, its a good company that has a lot to offer, even a free car!
The Culture
Yes as there is 26 placement students, the year was very every social. we all became good friends and organised many activities throughout the year. We even had sport tournaments against other companys which was very social. When you start HR will also put you in touch will fellow placement students which was useful when finding people to live with.
Its a good location as its not directly in london so you didn't have the cost of living prices for london. However there was a direct tube line 5 minutes drive from the office which takes you into london.
I would say the nightlife wasnt huge in the area. it was one club and a slug and lettuce nearby however we spent a lot of time just going into london as it was so close!
Yes- sport wise and you could also work on events as a brand ambassador which was great fun!
