About You
The insight was incredibly enjoyable as I got to attend multiple client visits and internal meetings.
I was given some meaningful work and treated with respect throughout. Although, the confidentiality issues and short time of the internship did prevent me from being assigned anything of substance.
Everyone was willing to help and give advice. It was really good that we got separate people as a buddy and mentor. This made it easier to ask for help without feeling like I was bothering my mentor, while also receiving a high level of support and access. Other people on the team were also happy to sit down with me to explain what they were working as well as what it's like working at EY.
The information that I gained was quite helpful as I am studying Accounting and Finance at university. Although, I'm not sure how valuable they will be to people studying other degrees. The skills that I developed were especially important because I hope to go into financial services after I graduate. However, many of the skills were highly transferrable and would be helpful to anyone looking to become a well-rounded person.
The Company
The programme could use a bit more structure, although that is to be expected considering that this is the first year that the programme has been running.
The atmosphere mirrored the positive and friendly atmosphere at EY itself.
They invested time and energy on explaining tasks to me and checking over my work.
