The Role
Over the course of my year, I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and the opportunities it gave me. The job enabled me to learn new skills and improve my existing ones whilst gaining valuable workplace experience.
I was given a number of important tasks/jobs to do over the course of the year. This made me feel incredibly valued and trusted by the team and I was made to feel very welcome. the team was always there to support me if I needed it
I was given very clear and thorough guidance throughout my year thanks to regular monthly 1 on 1 meetings with my supervisor.
The work over the course of the year was very up and down. there would be some weeks where I was busy Monday to Friday, other weeks not so much. I guess this is just down to being a placement student.
I was given a fair bit of responsibility over the year but not too much as I was just a placement student.
the skills I have learnt and developed on will definitely be of benefit in my final year at uni.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly and supportive with all members of the team wanting to help one another. there was no bitchiness behind other peoples backs it was just a friendly environment to work.
The overall placement was fairly well organised. there was a bit of confusion at the start in terms of training and where we were meant to go. It did get better.
All placement students received the basic training that the company provides to make sure that we would be safe in the workplace. There was also several required learning modules that we had to take at the start of placement.

Working from home
future employment is very appealing due to the benefits employees get when they work for caterpillar
The Culture
the social scene was fantastic, was just like being at uni without the work!
the cost of living was average, I was lucky enough to find a very reasonably priced house in a nice area
Nightlife was ok. There are plenty of pubs that are reasonably priced and some very nice restaurants.
There were a few activities if you actively went after that sort of thing.
