The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for caterpillar's sub company Perkins in the finance department. I have learnt how to apply the things I was study in university, in a real life scenario within business.
Lovely bunch to work with. Not overly strict and not too lenient, just right in the middle.
brilliant manager, very supportive and helpful.
always busy, always work to do. I had daily jobs to complete and journals to prepare for month-end reporting.
I had quite a large responsibility. I was responsible for publishing and sending the daily sales analysis for previous days to almost the whole business.
A real eye-opening year to give me a great insight into what working life is life in the role as an accountant, which will help me in my last year of studying as I can apply real life experience to help with my studies.
The Company
quite a lively office with plenty of chitter-chatter rather than an eerie silence.
well organised programme for placement students.
my manager was very helpful in training and I was always able to ask him or any other colleagues for help if/when I needed.
Flexi Time
Above 25 days holiday
It is a world-renown organisation which has many opportunities for progression. I would be interested in returning, if circumstances allowed.
The Culture
Only one other placement student on site with myself and generally working with an elder generation, enjoyable none-the-less.
Pretty average and expected living and socialising costs, nothing out of the ordinary.
didn't get much chance to experience it fully as being hungover at work 9am the next morning is a good enough deterrent to give it a miss!!
