The Role
I enjoy most of the time during my placement. The colleagues I've worked with always make the work more enjoyable.
I definitely felt valued during my work placement. For example, when I do a great job on a new report I get recognition from my line manager and other colleagues.
Since the start of my placement, I was given full support and guidance on my work. If I ever felt I was struggling I could always ask for help.
Some weeks I will be quite busy as certain important reports are due in but some other time I will have time to complete other projects.
I was given quite a bit of responsibility especially on producing the reports. If there was something questionable about a report it was my responsibility to research and explain why there was something wrong in that report.
Before my placement, I had no experience in SAS coding and basic experience with excel. Since my placement my skills such as SAS coding and excel have developed and improved, in which these skills will help you become more employable.
The Company
It was mainly quite in the office. You get a few friendly chats here and there but nothing hugely exciting.
The work placement was very organised. They made a plan for the first couple of weeks for me on what to do, meetings, trainings etc.
My Team's manager will often come to me for information and research.
Working from home
I would definitely consider a future employment with Lloyds banking Group.
The Culture
I made good friends with the other placement students. It was fun working with them, having fun and doing charitable events such as cake sales.
I lived in Wolverhampton. Cost of living is quite reasonable. As for socialising, there is things to do in which I got involved with Pro Wrestling Training called Fight Club: Pro. It was really good and training with other wrestlers and potential wrestlers was fun.
There's a few pubs and nightclubs in the area but I rarely go.
There are quite a few opportunities to take part in. I got involved with Pro Wrestling Training called Fight Club: Pro. It was really good and training with other wrestlers and potential wrestlers was fun.
