The Role
I really enjoyed working here. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and the skills and technical knowledge obtained is so valuable and will be of good use in my future career.
Everyone in the workplace is friendly and treats you like an employee, not a placement student. They valued my opinion and ideas.
I was given a lot of support from both my placement manager and my local supervisor. If they were not around to help, other colleagues in my team were happy to help.
I wasn't very busy in my first two months of placement, but this was just because I was getting up to speed with learning about the company and how things worked. After that, I was given lots of significant work to do, which was very interesting to be a part of.
I had quite big responsibilities and played a big role in engineering teams. This was a fantastic experience as I knew that my work had impact on the business.
I have definitely gained skills for personal development, such as building my confidence and also to build my future career. These are skills that can only be learnt in industry. These will be extremely useful in University.
The Company
It was relaxed and was great. Everyone was chatty. We have a lot of team bonding activities such as socials and monthly team challenges. It was a great atmosphere.
The placement was well organised. Everything was made simple and straight forward. My placement manager had monthly reviews with me to ensure my placement was going well. The initial process of settling in was great
There was a lot of personal training and development, for technical skills and also for career development. These occurred every month and technical training occurred every few months - whether in software or hardware.

Working from home
Very appealing. I would like to come back and work for them.
The Culture
Yes, all placement students were interactive with each other. We had young professionals group that held social events for us to all get to know each other better.
Cost of living and socialising isn't too high.
There are lots of pubs around the city centre.
I always get opportunities to participate in STEM events, charity events and more. There are endless opportunities to get involved.
