The Role
My placement has been really well, and the year has gone really quick. First few weeks were the hardest as I was learning everything, and felt a little useless standing around but once I knew what I was doing I was able to get in and really enjoyed the overall placement scheme.
We all worked as a team be it in our branch who we see day in day out but also visiting other branches and speaking to other managers and trainees, it was lovely seeing new faces and in general things like area nights out or branch lunches bought us all closer together.
The support given was brilliant. I always knew that if I needed anything I could speak to my trainers who were based at head office but also speak to my assistant manager and branch manager when needed. They were all approachable which made things really easy for me.
There was days where it was really quiet but this gave us the opportunity to carry out admin work and work which we hardly get time to do on a regular day. Then there were the days were theres a lot going on in one day and as a team we pulled together to make sure things were running smoothly.
The amount of responsibility given was truly amazing, and the reason being is because it made me as an intern feel that I am doing something important not just for the branch, but for the customers and for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The skills I have picked up and developed will help me in the future be it at university or in the work place later on in life. I was able to learn basic skills such as a smile making a difference to communicational skills be it over the phone, email, face to face. In general the skills gained and developed will help me in life.
The Company
The atmosphere in my branch was amazing. We had a really relaxed time during the day and even when we felt things were out of control we always made sure we saw the funny side of things and always had a laugh and a joke with customers.
The placement scheme was set really well. We had a work book given to us which we used and referred back to. The book had mini projects to be carried out which made it feel that there was something being achieved all the time.
The training provided was really well structured from the week long training before starting to training at intervals of 3, 5 and 7 months. The topics covered in the training helped me have a good start as what we learnt in training is what happened in real life + the training was done by someone who has been in my position and understands what goes on.

As I study Law I am leaning to go into a job more legal related however I know that enterprise will always be here for me if and when needed and returning back to Enterprise will always be an option as I genuinely enjoyed what I did.
The Culture
Trained with numerous people in the initial week, and kept in touch with them. Also met new trainees who had also started around the same time as me and got to speak to them, about what they enjoy and what they've learnt.
I lived at home so didn't have any living costs what so ever however in general the area I was based in was average, and costs weren't too high, so Im not complaining.
There aren't too many places to visit in the town I was in but we weren't too far from London where it is amazing.
There is a lot we can do where I was working. we met up a team on a monthly basis for dinners and had branch lunches every other week which boosts morale.
