The Role
The experience was extremely valuable and various within the whole year.
The company culture and colleagues are very welcoming and always happy to help.
I was very lucky to have one head manager and two team leaders, who both contributed to the guidance throughout the year.
It has never been a single ocassion where I woul have nothing to do. I got give a lot of different tasks that I could do at the same time. However, everything is managable.
As much as the placement student can be given. Engineering tasks requiring a lot of responsibility at any task undertaken.
Essential Technical and Professional skills were developed extremely. I have enjoyed my tasks and training.
The Company
Very warm and peaceful. It is not 100% always formal and everyone is funny joking to discharge the atmosphere.
My year was meant to consist of the 6 month working in one team and the swap to another. But due to the experience and knowledge in particular areas I have just continued working on the same projects
This aspec could be improved. However, every person has to show its personal initiative to be trained.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
It was not mentioned at the beginning of the placement that there's no opportunities for international students. This could be improved.
The Culture
The relationships within our placement students group was extremely good.
Cost was high for living due to the location. Socialising as normal.
Very limited. Melksham is a tiny place and there is no Nightlife around the area.
Somewhat. If there is a desire, some social clubs are always available but not widely advertised.
