The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement within the EHS departmnet and it far exceeded my expectations. my work was varied and interesting.
I felt very well valued by my colleagues from day 1.
My manager is brilliant, I have been put on EHS management courses as well as First aid and many more EHS/train industry courses. I was supported 100% and the guidance recieved was invaluable
I helped 3 main Knorr-Bremse sites and had different responsibilities/tasks for each facility, so I was adequatly busy each day.
I was given more responsibility that I thought, I was given various projects and independently provided the EHS support, knowing that if i was unsure of anything I could always ask my manager for assistance and advice.
My skills increased greatly and I also gained new ones. I have developed personally and professionally in a multi national company. I am using a knorr-bremse product for my dissertation topic so the placement has helped greatly for my final year of university. Furthermore, I am now more knowledgable and have greater experience than any of my peers who did not do a placement.
The Company
Chatty but also corporate feeling office environment - just right
Very well organised, had a time table of my first 3 weeks activities so I was busy straight away. from then on I have been given projects and responisbilities and have to organise my own time effectively.
They invested greatly in me, from First aid courses to managing safely courses as well as many more which are industry specific. I have also had a loty of time and effort invested in me by other member of staff - especially my manager who has imparted much invaluable knowledge.
