The Role
My year at Enterprise has been very enjoyable proving me with loads of opportunities to develop my skills that I will be able to use across numerous industries and take back into my final year of university. The company is full of great people to work along side. Of course there are times when it is tough, especially as there sometimes a very heavy work load but it was one of the best experiences I have ever had!
Enterprise is full of great people to work alongside. They are friendly helpful and I can say that I have made some friends for life here.
Everybody at the company is willing to help and guide you. Everybody has come through the same scheme so understands the position you are in as a new starter. Very quickly you become an integral part of the business operations which is great.
From the minute you walk in till the minute you leave you are always busy. You could say too busy sometimes but I would have hated a job where I was sat down doing nothing waiting for the next email to be received.
Within a matter of weeks you become an integral member of the team. You are at the heart of the business operations and there is plenty of opportunities to branch out to other areas of the business (eg. marketing)
The skills and experiences that I have gained from my year are going to be so valuable for my final year of university and later working life. Lots of them are transferable to both study and work.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was often a good one. Everyone is a similar age and working in a small team you get to know everybody well. When the work load is heavy the moral can drop which is to be expected.
The placement scheme has a well set out training development folder for you to work through with the aim of completing it within 10 months (£500 bonus). You do have to manage your own development and make sure you are keeping on top of your folder and not letting it fall behind your other jobs.
The company provides monthly training days at head office, small tests to track your progress and also regular training sessions with your branch manager.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
The company would love their placement students to come back to the business as their year mirrors that of a graduate. There is lots of opportunities to branch into other areas of the business however the first couple of years working in the branches as assistants or managers is hard work.
The Culture
There are regular branch meals, bi monthly nights out funded by the company. The guys in my branch were great to get a long with but as we were in a small team and geographically quite far apart it wasn't the easiest socially.
I lived at home during my placement. The salary made a nice change from surviving on student loan!
Working in Manchester offered great nightlife. Working every other Saturday morning did have its downfalls though
There is opportunities to get out in the market place and interact with our customers and potential clients. Performance related days out the office were good targets also.
