About You
I very much enjoyed the Spring Into Banking programme at Deutsche Bank and it was a brilliant experience, providing a great insight into life at the bank. It definitely shaped my future career path and had an impact of my expectations of future workplaces in the financial sector. Overall it was a really great experience.
I felt incredibly well valued during my time at Deutsche Bank. Everyone made sure to take the time for us to answer any questions or queries we had. It was amazing for the bank to invest so much into us and I really had a great time at the bank. 10/10.
I gained a lot of support along the way. The HR team were always patient with us and guided us smoothly through the whole process. Whilst we were undertaking the work shadowing, everyone was so willing to provide help and I found that everyone I interacted with wanted us to get the most out of the experience.
This interactive and engaging insight week allowed me to develop and assimilate several professional and interpersonal skills, which I'm sure will be useful for my studies and professional career. I widened my knowledge about the financial sector and developed my networking, communicative, teamwork and leadership skills, among others. These skills will undoubtedly benefit me in the future.
The Company
I found the programme to be very well structured and we were given the learning materials a few weeks before the programme started. For the first few days, we were given the presentations to know basic knowledge required and the overview of the company as a whole. The work shadowing aspect of the insight was particularly beneficial as it allowed me to gain a better understanding of what division I would like to work in, in the future.
The atmosphere was the perfect balance of professional and casual, creating a great learning and networking environment. Over the last couple of days, Wednesday and Thursday, the atmosphere naturally became slightly more tense as the assessed sections began to loom and divisional preferences had to be made; however, the atmosphere was still rather relaxed and we all seemed to enjoy every day.
It was evident just how much time, effort and money had been invested into this insight programme and into our personal development. There was a specific Early Careers team dedicated to ensuring this programme was the best it could be and that we got the most out of it. Personally, I felt that I developed a lot from this programme.
The desk-shadowing was a great insight into what it was like to have a full time role at the company. The company prides itself on being highly adaptive with new technologies and offer a great work life balance to employees within Deutsche Bank. There are plenty of opportunities for promotion and learning within Deutsche Bank.
The insight was very beneficial in helping me to understand more about the bank's culture. Not only we received presentations about the company's culture and values, but also we could perceive them with our own experience, through work shadowing and the networking sessions, that allowed us to meet several employees within the different divisions of Deutsche Bank.
The week gave a comprehensive insight into the structure of the bank and how all the different parts come together to provide the services. The spring week reaffirmed my intentions to pursue a career in banking, providing opportunities to see real work and what the experience of working in a bank is really like.
Everything Else
During the course of the insight week, I was provided with accommodation and all of my travel expenses were reimbursed.
There were many opportunities to network with the employees of the bank. We were able to network during the work shadowing in 5 different divisions and there were many company presentations and panels after which we could chat with the people. We even had the opportunity to network with the senior staff at Deutsche Bank.
I found all of the networking and social events to be really enjoyable.
Yes, there are many opportunities for employees to get involved in activities outside of work.
Yes, I would recommend this enjoyable and valuable insight programme to a friend!
