The Role
Hays has provided me with wide ranging skills and experience that will be invaluable to my future career. They level of responsibility given is incredible and I enjoyed being able to use my initiative everday.
Hays value its social network and my colleagues were very welcoming and supportive which helped to develop intuitive relationships. I generally felt my colleagues recognised my commitment and achievements towards our team objectives.
The learning, training and development at Hays is amazing and was continuous throughout my entire placement. I attended formal training events across the UK and received on-the-job support from my Manager and Regional Director. They encourage self-sufficiency.
Some working days were busier than others although I preferred more varied days because it helped to quickly pass the long working hours.
The level of responsibility has been the most enjoyable element as I have been given as much ownership being an intern as any other employee in Hays. This allows you to develop relationships with your candidates and clients and see your own efforts turn into successful results.
The knowledge and skills gained through placement has helped to understand how theory fit into practice and thus will support my final year final year at university. The skills I've developed from negotiation, presentation, communication to adaptability will be hugely transferable in my future career opportunities.
The Company
I worked in a dynamic and very friendly environment where you get to work in close proximity to everyone. No day passed without laughter, support and celebrating success as a team.
The placement follows a structured training programme ensuring you cover all aspects of the role in a methodical manner. Hays make sure you quickly meet colleagues that you will work in close proximity to and place you in a specialism that suits your personality and skills.
Hays pride itself on its professional development opportunities which I experienced from start to end within my placement. Interns receive as much training as other employees to equip you with expert knowledge and so you feel comfortable in the job. Hays aim to retain interns as Associate Recruitment Consultants upon graduating so they invest in you as much as possible.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Hays have a clear career progression scheme where interns are given the opportunity to discuss returning as Graduates / Associate Recruitment Consultants depending on your placement achievements.
The Culture
Every quarter Hays organised social events for each Region to celebrate success and provide rewards. At the office level we all went out regularly for drinks and other social events including birthdays.
