Vacation Scheme Student Review

The Taylor Wessing vacation scheme has been an amazing experience. I have been provided with an amazing level of responsibility, engaging in work that I would not have expected to perform. I have also been immersed into Taylor Wessing's friendly and approachable culture. All lawyers in all departments have been more than willing to speak to me.

Taylor Wessing has made concrete steps in ensuring that the work I have completed during these two weeks has contributed to the overall development of the firm. I have engaged in writing free letters and preparing other documentation sent to clients. The trust Taylor Wessing puts onto its vacation scheme students is amazing.

Throughout this vacation scheme Taylor Wessing has provided the vacation scheme students with constant support and guidance. My trainee buddies have ensured that any questions I have are answered, and my supervisors have guided me through the legal work I have completed. As a result, I have at no point felt uncomfortable or unable to do a piece of work I have been set.

This vacation scheme has developed my analytical skills. Through creating bundles, drafting letters and creating condition precedent checklists, I have had to display key attention to detail. This will benefit my studies at university because I am now more analytical and pay more attention to the work I am producing.

This vacation scheme has displayed excellent organisation and structure. Every day the vacation scheme students have received in depth workshops from the various practice areas of Taylor Wessing. As a result, I have received fascinating talks on what it is like to be a lawyer at Taylor Wessing. This is only because of an excellent structure.

Taylor Wessing displays a culture and atmosphere which is based off collegiality and friendliness. Lawyers from all departments have been eager to talk to me about my experiences on the scheme so far. As a result, I have formed many friendships with trainees and lawyers at Taylor Wessing, an amazing opportunity.

Taylor Wessing has provided the vacation scheme students with in depth workshops based on different practice areas of the firm. During these workshops we engaged in activities such as mock client calls. This has given me a practical insight into the professional conduct required when on a client call. This has developed my legal skills.

This vacation scheme has enabled me to complete work which would otherwise be completed by a trainee. As a result, I have developed an in depth understanding of what my role in Taylor Wessing would be as a trainee. The culture at Taylor Wessing has allowed me to understand that working in this firm will be an enjoyable experience.

This vacation scheme has perfectly demonstrated Taylor Wessing's interest in its vacation scheme students. We have received constant support and interest from professionals all across the firm. As a result, I now know that at Taylor Wessing there is a company culture which supports each and every professional - an amazing concept.

This vacation scheme has affirmed my interest in practicing commercial law. Through undertaking legal tasks such as due diligence and drafting legal letters, I am confident that this area of law appeals to me. This vacation scheme has also allowed me to understand the important of practicing at a law firm with a supportive culture.

Taylor Wessing has offered numerous networking events during this vacation scheme. I have had the opportunity to network with partners of every practice area. This has enabled me to ask complex questions surrounding each of the different practice areas. Taylor Wessing also held numerous networking events with trainees. This meant that we were acquainted with our trainee buddies before we sat in an office with them.

The social and networking opportunities were a great way to unwind from the work we had produced. These events allowed us to talk to trainee lawyers in a friendly and approachable environment. Because of these opportunities, we were able to build excellent connections with all the lawyers of Taylor Wessing.

Taylor Wessing's approachable culture has meant that I have been able to engage in conversation with employees of Taylor Wessing concerning topics other than legal work. During these conversations I spoke to various lawyers about them going to the gym, holidays and more. This has allowed me to gain a unique view into the life of a lawyer.

This vacation scheme has been a fantastic experience. I have been a part of an inclusive environment whilst conducting complex and fascinating legal work. As a result, I would recommend this vacation scheme to all of my friends who are considering applying to one. They would gain amazing training and have a great 2 weeks.
