The Role
Felt part of a team from day one. Learnt so much every day, and colleagues were really approachable so it was easy to ask questions
Working on teams, and contributing to audits.
Everyone looked out for the interns, and were very helpful. People manager and buddies made me feel at home from day one
Very busy - didn't have time to do compliance
I was given the smaller parts of the audit to complete like bank and cash. However, when I completed my parts and my work had been reviewed, I felt a sense of satisifaction that my work wasa contribution to the audit.
Definite skills for life, and I 'm using them at university. Team work and leadershio, Microsoft skills. Also I gained knowledge into what audit is etc, so when I go into audit after university, I will know some of the terms already.
The Company
The banter with the people I worked with was great. Much better to be in a team of four or five, than working with only one other person. Very friendly atmosphere in the office, felt cared for and wanted.
From day one in Buckinghamshire, right to the end of the internship, the organisation was very good. I knew in advance what each day coming was going to involve, and i always knew wher eI was supposed to be.
I think general audit knowledge was invested in me, especially in the first 3 days in Buckinghamshire.
Got offered a graduate job. We were told 95% chance of getting a job, when you have done the internship.
The Culture
As interns, we tried to meet up out of the office and have a good time
quite expensive, but then Edinburgh is a capital city
Pretty good, and the locals were able to show us around
Lots of sporting opportunities which I hope to take part in, when I return. unfortunately I didn't have time during my internship to participate
