The Role
The training schemes were brilliant, especially at the hotel. There were lots of opportunities to shadow partners/directors and get to know a variety of areas within the firm.
I was often asked by Directors to carry out work for them personally. The team I worked with gave me plenty of responsibility and by the end of the internship I was pulled over onto other jobs to assist with them as well.
My people manager was absolutely brilliant and spent a lot of time ensuring I was happy with everything I was doing. She ensured I was invited to various socials and had as many chances for shadowing as possible. I also had a buddy who helped me with any problems I encountered.
I was given an adequate amount of work, but not too much so that I was stressed.
I was given work that needed to be completed by specific deadlines and was essential to the teams progress. The department Directors gave me work they required that day but entrusted to me.
The internship taught me a lot about businesses and how they work. It also taught me the importance of networking and teamwork.
The Company
The office was divided into social groups which made working really fun. Everyone in the office was very friendly and always keen to share their experiences or help out.
Everything was run brilliantly and I never felt lost or unsure of what to do.
We had an intense 3-day training course at the beginning, which took place at a hotel. This continued throughout via managers and colleagues who explained everything I was required to do.
Subsidised Canteen

I was offered a job within the department I worked in, however after attending lots of future career events at the firm, decided to move to anothe department. I was interview by a partner from this area and subsequently offered a job with the option of deferring my entry.
The Culture
I made a really great group of friends who I am still in contact with now. I also had the opportunity to meet those 2/3 years above me which was really fun.
I was based in London so socialising was relatively expensive.
It's London, so obviously the nightlife is good!
I was invited to play with the hockey team however no matches took place during my internship. I attended two socials and was taken for dinner and lunch with the directors.
